About the Role

You’ll be joining 1066 Veterinary Centre, a thriving small animal practice serving the Hastings and Bexhill area with a reputation for excellent client care and varied caseloads. This full-time position offers a 40-hour working week completed over either four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days, with one in four Saturdays (hours taken back during the week). Your day-to-day work will rotate between in-patient care, theatre duties, assisting with imaging, lab work, and consulting—keeping the role dynamic and engaging.

The practice is ideally situated on the East Sussex coast, known for its stunning countryside, beautiful seafront, and vibrant cultural scene. You’ll benefit from excellent transport links: Brighton is just 45 minutes away by car or train, central London is 1 hour by train, and Gatwick Airport is also an hour away.

Key Responsibilities

• Rotate between in-patient nursing care, theatre support, and anaesthetic assistance
• Assist with diagnostic imaging including digital X-ray and Doppler ultrasound
• Support laboratory work and sample analysis using the practice’s blood analysers
• Provide nursing support during consultations and client interactions
• Maintain high standards of clinical nursing care across the practice
• Contribute to the collaborative, supportive team culture

Requirements

• Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Drive for clinical excellence and attention to detail

1066 Veterinary Centre is a well-established multi-site practice serving Hastings and Bexhill with high client numbers and a genuinely varied caseload. The practice is equipped with comprehensive diagnostic and laboratory facilities including digital X-ray, Doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, and blood analysers—giving you access to excellent equipment and supporting good clinical practice.

The team comprises 3 experienced veterinary surgeons (several with post-graduate certificates in surgery, cardiology, medicine, ophthalmology, and exotics), 6 nursing staff, and 6 receptionists.
