Registered Veterinary Nurse – Part-time (Maternity Cover)

About the Role

Abbey Vets Paisley is seeking a part-time RVN to join their mixed practice on a fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. Based at the Paisley branch with 32 hours per week, this role offers genuine work-life balance: no on-call duties and a straightforward 1:4 weekend rota. You’ll be part of a supportive network of vets, nurses, ACAs and receptionists within an RCVS-accredited practice.

Paisley sits on Glasgow’s doorstep, bordering the Gleniffer Braes Country Park with countryside and coastal towns minutes away. Excellent transport links and an international airport nearby make this an accessible base whether you’re local or relocating.

Key Responsibilities

• Post-operative care for medical and surgical patients
• Theatre and prep area support during procedures

Requirements

• RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team

Abbey Vets is an established, RCVS-accredited mixed practice with surgeries in Paisley and Greenock. The team is dedicated to providing excellent first opinion care and has built strong relationships with clients over many years.

The practice is well-equipped with modern facilities: Karl Storz laparoscopy equipment for lap speys, fully equipped laboratory (haematology, biochemistry, electrolyte and therapeutic monitoring), ultrasound scanner, digital radiography with dental x-ray capability, endoscope and state-of-the-art dental equipment.
