Registered Veterinary Nurse – Part-time (Maternity Cover)

About the Role

Abbey Vets Paisley is welcoming a part-time Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its friendly, mixed-animal practice on a fixed-term contract covering maternity leave. This is a genuine opportunity to be part of a supportive, caring team without the pressure of on-call duties—just straightforward 32 hours per week with a manageable 1:4 weekend rota.

Located just north of Glasgow in the historic town of Paisley, the practice sits on the doorstep of the Gleniffer Braes Country Park, with easy access to expansive countryside, coastal towns, and beaches. Transport links are excellent, including a nearby international airport. The practice is RCVS-accredited and well-equipped with modern diagnostic and surgical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-operative care for medical and surgical patients
• Assist veterinary surgeons in theatre and preparation areas
• Manage pharmacy stock control and ordering
• Care for isolation patients
• Undertake laboratory work using the practice’s fully equipped facility

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
• Professional, proactive, and compassionate approach to patient care
• Ability to work as part of a team in a mixed-practice environment
