No out-of-hours, genuine flexibility, and a team of 13 vets with on-site CT and MRI? This is the small animal role that actually respects your work-life balance while keeping your skills sharp.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

No out-of-hours or on-call duties. Saturday shifts included on rota with time off in lieu.

About the Role

Join Abington Park Vets’ first opinion team in Northampton, where you’ll enjoy clinical independence without the pressure of out-of-hours commitments. This role offers genuine flexibility—choose between 4×10 hour or 5×8 hour patterns, with Saturday shifts on a manageable rota and time off in lieu. The practice recognises that life happens outside work, so they’re genuinely open to discussing alternative rota patterns that suit your circumstances, whether that’s school pickups or reduced hours during holidays.

You’ll be working alongside 13 veterinary surgeons (the majority holding certificates), supported by an experienced nursing team of 18 RVNs. The practice is exceptionally well-equipped with in-house endoscopy, on-site CT, digital radiography, doppler ultrasonography, a purpose-built dental suite, and mobile MRI service. This setup means you’ll rarely need to refer cases externally—investigations happen in the same building, creating an ideal environment for learning new skills and pursuing advanced qualifications.

Nestled in picturesque Northamptonshire with strong links to London and Birmingham, the practice recently underwent full refurbishment to match modern referral hospital standards.
