🕐 Schedule & Rota

1–2 weeknight on-call per month (18:30–23:30); 1:4 weekend rota (Friday 18:30–23:30, Saturday & Sunday 08:30–23:30)

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an independent veterinary practice committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality pet care. You’ll be supporting all aspects of veterinary nursing across a varied small animal caseload, working with a close-knit, collaborative team. The role is full-time, based on a 4-day working week (08:30–18:30), with manageable evening on-call duties and a shared 1:4 weekend rota—giving you genuine time to rest and recharge.

The practice values mentorship and professional development, with an emphasis on supporting junior team members and student nurses as they develop their skills. You’ll contribute ideas to improve both practice operations and client care in a modern, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct nurse consultations and manage patient admissions and discharges
  • Monitor anaesthesia and assist during surgical procedures
  • Provide in-patient care and support recovery protocols
  • Carry out laboratory work and clinical administration tasks
  • Mentor and support junior nursing team members and student nurses
  • Contribute ideas to improve practice operations and enhance client experience

Requirements

  • Previously worked as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, Veterinary Nurse, or in a similar role
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a veterinary nursing role
  • Registered Veterinary Nurse with valid professional registration
  • Compassionate and professional approach to animal care and client interaction
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small, close team
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
