About the Role

You’ll be joining Alexander Vets as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, taking on a varied caseload in a small animal setting with genuine work-life balance built in. This full-time position works 4 days per week with shifts between 8:30am and 6:00pm, plus one half-day (8:30am–12:30pm) each week. Saturday shifts are just 9:00am–12:00pm on a 1-in-4 rota, and there’s no out-of-hours or on-call work required—a significant plus for anyone seeking stability. Part-time options are also available for the right candidate.

Located on the outskirts of the Lake District, this well-established small animal practice has invested significantly in modern facilities, including digital X-ray, ultrasound, laser therapy, and in-house blood testing. You’ll be working with a loyal client base that allows for comprehensive case workups and varied nursing experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run your own nurse clinics and manage patient consultations
  • Provide inpatient care and monitoring across the practice
  • Assist with laboratory work and perform diagnostic imaging
  • Monitor anaesthesia during surgical and investigative procedures
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the practice

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • Confident, dedicated approach to patient care
  • No specific experience level stated—competence as a qualified RVN is the key requirement
