About the Role

This is a full-time rotating internship opportunity designed to fast-track your clinical development across multiple specialisms. You’ll work within Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists and rotate through a carefully structured programme covering internal medicine, surgery, anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, oncology, emergency and critical care, neurology, cardiology, ophthalmology, and dentistry. You’ll be part of a vibrant community of over 100 rotating interns and 100+ residents across Linnaeus’s specialist-led referral group—the largest network of its kind in the UK.

From day one, you’ll have hands-on involvement in diagnostics, surgery, and patient care under the guidance of world-renowned specialists. This isn’t a shadowing role; you’ll be actively contributing to a thriving multi-disciplinary team where your clinical learning is the priority.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in rotations across 10 specialist disciplines, gaining breadth and depth in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Undertake hands-on clinical work including diagnostics, surgical support, anaesthesia, and patient care
  • Engage in weekly clinical teaching, small-group seminars, monthly film reading sessions, and clinical reasoning rounds
  • Conduct clinical research with full support, including opportunities to present at international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
  • Complete RECOVER online certification in both basic and advanced life support
  • Work toward CertAVP qualification (all rotating interns are enrolled automatically)
  • Engage with career development workshops covering CV writing, interview techniques, and long-term planning

Requirements

  • Registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in small animal practice
  • Completed (or close to completion of) the RCVS Veterinary Graduate Development Programme (VetGDP). Note: We also accept applications if you do not need to complete the RCVS VetGDP.
  • UK work visa or eligible for visa sponsorship (sponsorship is available subject to eligibility)
