About the Role

This is a 12-month fixed-term position offering the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated, close-knit neurology service in a busy multi-disciplinary referral hospital. You’ll engage with a varied and fascinating caseload, including many unusual and interesting presentations, while benefiting from a genuine team approach to challenging diagnostics and management. The role is part-time, allowing flexibility while you contribute to an expanding clinical service.

Based in the attractive Hampshire countryside near Winchester, Anderson Moores combines a rural setting with excellent transport links—Southampton and Bournemouth airports, direct trains to London and the Midlands—plus easy access to the south coast for recreation. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist neurological diagnosis and management for referred small animal cases
  • Conduct advanced neurological investigations using state-of-the-art equipment (MRI, CT, electrophysiology)
  • Perform neurosurgical procedures using the hospital’s comprehensive surgical suite
  • Contribute to the teaching and mentorship of the resident and neurology intern
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team on complex referral cases
  • Support ongoing clinical excellence and evidence-based practice

Requirements

  • ECVN (European College of Veterinary Neurology) board certification or ACVIM (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine) Neurology specialisation, or equivalent residency training in neurology
  • MRCVS or FRCVS registration, or veterinary degree registrable with the RCVS

Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists is an established, multi-disciplinary referral-only small animal hospital in Hampshire, committed to delivering the highest standards of patient care. The neurology service is a cornerstone of the practice, comprising three ECVN diplomates, one resident, and a neurology intern, reflecting the hospital’s investment in clinical excellence and specialist training.

The hospital is equipped with advanced facilities including a 1.5T Phillips MRI scanner, 64-slice Siemens CT, Deymed TruTrace electrophysiology equipment, comprehensive neurosurgical instrumentation, fluoroscopy, and minimally-invasive and orthopaedic surgical equipment. The specialist clinicians are supported by highly qualified registered veterinary nurses, nursing assistants, rotating interns, and veterinary physiotherapists. Anderson Moores is part of Linnaeus, a member of Mars Veterinary Health, and strongly supports ongoing training, CPD, and team-based clinical problem-solving.
