About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Animal House Vets’ well-equipped small animal practice in Bristol, with the added bonus of flexible working arrangements ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week. You’ll benefit from no out-of-hours night calls thanks to the practice’s dedicated OOH provision, with just a 1:4 weekend rota to manage. The team actively encourages case discussions, clinical freedom to work up your cases, and a genuine mix of consulting and surgical work, with opportunities for sole charge experience as you develop confidence.

Bristol itself offers vibrant urban amenities alongside easy access to the countryside, plus excellent transport links to Bath, Wales, Birmingham, Devon, and London. An exciting new site is opening in 2026, bringing fresh opportunities for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-standard small animal veterinary care across a range of consults and surgical procedures
  • Work autonomously on cases with clinical freedom to develop diagnostic and treatment plans
  • Participate in 1:4 weekend rota (daytime only—no night shifts due to dedicated OOH provision)
  • Engage in case discussions and mentoring with the wider team to foster continuous learning
  • Contribute to a supportive, feedback-focused culture with regular appraisals and team meetings
  • Support a loyal client base and community with excellent communication and compassionate care

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Surgeon (UK RCVS registration)
  • Strong communication skills and genuine team-player mentality
  • Passion for delivering high-standard small animal care
  • Flexibility and adaptability to various shift patterns (20-40 hours per week)
  • This role suits both experienced practitioners and newly qualified vets seeking mentored support
