Join Apsley Vets for Pets as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in a role designed around your needs. Based in Hemel Hempstead with ample on-site parking, you’ll be part of a welcoming team where collaboration and animal welfare are genuinely valued.

This is a full-time position (with part-time options available) with no out-of-hours or overnight inpatient responsibilities—allowing you to maintain genuine work-life balance. You’ll work alongside three vets, another RVN, a student veterinary nurse, two VCAs, a practice manager, and three receptionists in a friendly, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient admissions and discharge procedures
• Anaesthetic monitoring during surgical procedures
• Supporting patient recovery post-procedure
• Theatre turnaround and patient preparation (supported by VCAs and SVN)
• Delivering high-standard clinical nursing care across the practice
• Working collaboratively with the wider veterinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes

Requirements

• Current RVN registration
• Solid general nursing experience
• Strong client care skills and communication abilities
• Positive, down-to-earth, and enthusiastic approach to work
• Genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to high standards of patient care
