Ready to turn your veterinary ambitions into reality? Own a brand-new animal health and small animal practice in a charming market town with full support, clinical autonomy, and genuine partnership—no corporate directives.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to establish and run your own small animal veterinary practice in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, a vibrant market town in Leicestershire with convenient access to Leicester, Birmingham, and Nottingham. You’ll own and operate a state-of-the-art practice launching within approximately nine months, located within an existing Pet Care Centre that attracts a steady stream of new pet owners and established clients alike.

As the Practice Owner, you’ll have complete clinical and operational autonomy. You define your protocols, clinical decisions, medications, team culture, and business direction—with no corporate oversight. You’ll take a salary from day one alongside a comprehensive benefits package, earn 100% of future profits, and benefit from dividends paid twice annually once loans are repaid. Most importantly, you’ll retain 100% of the goodwill and asset value when you eventually exit the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide small animal veterinary care across three consulting rooms, theatre, X-ray, laboratory, and pharmacy facilities
  • Build and manage your clinical team (size determined by your vision and practice growth)
  • Develop client relationships and establish the practice’s reputation within the local community
  • Make all clinical and operational decisions aligned with your professional standards and business goals
  • Manage practice finances, staffing, and strategic planning with dedicated support from partnership teams

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon (MRCVS or equivalent)
  • Proven experience and confidence in small animal practice
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and genuine desire to own and lead a practice
  • Willingness to invest £20,000 (sole ownership) or equally split investment (co-ownership)
  • Ability to secure remaining finance through partnered banks (two-year repayment holiday provided)
  • Professional ambition to build a valuable, profitable asset for your future

Benefits

  • Ownership & Profit: 100% of future profits, dividends paid twice annually post-loan repayment, full ownership of goodwill and asset value upon exit
  • Salary & Security: Competitive salary from day one, pension scheme, life cover, and income protection insurance
  • Time Off: Generous 28-day holiday package
  • Business Support: Comprehensive support including recruitment assistance, financial and payroll management, dedicated IT, marketing, and HR services
  • Financial Structure: Flexible investment model with two-year repayment holiday; revenue share on sliding scale based on net turnover (never profit), designed to maximise your earnings
  • Exit Strategy: Partnership support to market your practice and facilitate sale to new owner when ready to move on
  • Community: Access to a network of fellow practice owners and operators for peer support and social events
  • Practice Facilities: Custom-built practice space including three consult rooms, prep area, theatre, X-ray, pharmacy, laboratory, separate cat and dog wards with waiting areas, isolation ward, office, and branded reception
