This is a full-time permanent position based at Avonvale Veterinary Centres in Stratford, working 40 hours per week. You’ll be joining a group of seven primary care practices across Warwickshire, established over 40 years, where small animal nursing is taken seriously and nurses are given real clinical responsibility.
The role includes some out-of-hours work on a manageable rota: 1:13 weekends, 1:10 nights, 1:8 Saturday afternoons, and 1:7 Saturday mornings (branch dependent). You can choose between nights or weekends, and all out-of-hours shifts are based at the Warwick hospital. You’ll need your own transport and a self-motivated approach to developing your skills.
Avonvale Veterinary Centres is part of Linnaeus, a forward-thinking partnership of primary care and referral practices across the UK and Ireland. The group comprises highly-respected clinicians united by a commitment to excellence and their purpose: a better world for pets. Avonvale itself operates seven primary care practices across Warwickshire with over 40 years’ experience in small animal medicine.
The nursing team is a particular strength: experienced, skilled, and genuinely engaged with their work. Multiple team members hold specialist certificates, and the practice prides itself on high nurse utilisation—meaning you’ll be doing real clinical nursing work, not just assisting. The team benefits from strong longevity (one colleague has been with the practice for 35 years) and a supportive culture where your development is actively encouraged.
