About the Role

An exciting opportunity to join Barnsley Cortonwood Vets for Pets as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week with a 1-in-4 Saturday rota—no out-of-hours work or overnight inpatient checks required.

You’ll be joining a close-knit team of 1 vet, 2 nurses, 1 veterinary care assistant, a practice manager, and 3 client care advisors in a purpose-built surgery that’s fully equipped to deliver excellent clinical care. The practice has a genuine focus on team wellbeing and maintains a friendly, welcoming culture where your nursing skills can be utilised to their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Admit patients and prepare them for procedures
• Monitor anaesthetics during surgical and dental procedures
• Support patient recovery post-procedure
• Manage patient discharges and post-operative care instructions
• Assist with theatre turnaround and patient preparation alongside the veterinary care assistant
• Provide excellent customer service to clients
• Contribute to the high standards of care and animal welfare the practice is known for

Requirements

• Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Strong general nursing experience
• Excellent customer service skills
• Cheerful, down-to-earth, and enthusiastic approach
• Genuine passion for animal welfare
