About the Role

You’ll be joining a dynamic referral team at Rosemary Lodge Veterinary Hospital, working alongside medical and surgical specialists, plus visiting cardiologists and ophthalmologists. This is a full-time position working 39 hours over 4 or 5 days per week, with a manageable 1:7 weekend on-call rota.

Located on the outskirts of beautiful Bath, the practice offers the perfect blend of city life and tranquil countryside—ideal if you want inspiring surroundings with easy access to local attractions. You’ll be working in a cutting-edge facility equipped with on-site CT, MRI, digital radiography, arthroscopy, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and in-house diagnostics. While referral experience is beneficial, the practice values enthusiasm, commitment, and a genuine passion for veterinary care above all.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care across medical and surgical cases in a specialist referral environment
• Support visiting specialists in cardiology and ophthalmology consultations and procedures
• Utilise advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment including CT, MRI, arthroscopy, endoscopy, and laparoscopy
• Engage in professional development through lunch-and-learn sessions and industry congresses
• Contribute to a collaborative team focused on continuous learning and knowledge sharing
• Deliver compassionate care with excellent attention to detail

Requirements

• Current RVN registration with the RCVS
• Compassionate approach with strong attention to detail
• Enthusiasm and commitment to veterinary nursing excellence
• Referral experience is beneficial but not essential—genuine passion matters most

About the Practice

Bath Veterinary Referrals is part of a larger group that includes multiple primary care surgeries across Bath and the surrounding area (Wellsway, Lower Weston, London Road, Peasedown St John, Keynsham, and Melksham). All surgeries are RCVS accredited and approved. Rosemary Lodge Veterinary Hospital is the only practice in Bath to achieve Tier 3 hospital standard and houses both Bath’s only 24-hour emergency centre (operated by Vets Now) and the referral service.
