Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a full-time or part-time veterinary surgeon position at a thriving, partner-owned practice in Taunton. You’ll be part of a dynamic team delivering exceptional small animal care in a newly refurbished clinic just 2 minutes from M5 Junction 25. The practice operates 8am–6:30pm Monday to Friday, with Saturday morning surgeries only (9am–1pm on a 1:4 rota). There are no overnight shifts or out-of-hours duties—just predictable, balanced working patterns. The practice is genuinely flexible and keen to discuss your preferences around hours.

You’ll work alongside a skilled team including a certificate holder in diagnostic imaging and specialist certificate holder nurses. The facilities are genuinely impressive: laparoscopic surgical kit, brand new dental X-ray setup, high-level ultrasound and imaging equipment, and in-house diagnostics with multiple biochemistry and haematology tools, plus AI Imagyst technology. The practice is cat-friendly and actively pursuing zero fear and pain certification.

• Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients in consultations and surgery, maintaining the highest regulatory, practice, and operational standards
• Develop tailored treatment plans collaboratively with clients

• Support the practice’s commitment to pain management and fear-free certification

Requirements

• Qualified MRCVS (UK registered veterinary surgeon)
