About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position offering 35.5 hours per week with a set schedule: Monday (8:30am-5:30pm), Tuesday (8:30am-5:30pm), Wednesday (10:00am-7:00pm), and Friday (8:30am-7:00pm). There are no out-of-hours duties and no weekend shifts—rare and genuinely refreshing in veterinary nursing. You’ll join a tight-knit team of two vets and two other nurses, all collaborating in a recently renovated, purpose-built practice on Bristol’s vibrant Gloucester Road, just minutes from the city centre.

Bishopston Vets for Pets is a standalone small animal practice with an excellent reputation in the local community. The team prioritises a calm, fear-free environment for patients (Silver Cat-Friendly accredited) and genuine support for staff wellbeing. You’ll work with state-of-the-art facilities including a spacious operating theatre, advanced ultrasound and digital X-ray machines, dental X-ray equipment, and an in-house Idexx laboratory—giving you plenty of clinical variety and the tools to deliver exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient admission and discharge
• Anaesthesia monitoring and recovery care
• Inpatient care and support
• Running nurse clinics
• Stock ordering and inventory management
• Supporting surgical and diagnostic procedures using the practice’s advanced equipment

Requirements

• Current RVN registration (or eligible to register)
• Passion for small animal healthcare and high-quality patient care

The team comprises experienced vets and nursing staff who genuinely enjoy working together.
