Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You’ll be the essential first point of contact for clients and patients at Blackberry Veterinary Clinic, a recently refurbished small animal practice nestled in the idyllic countryside of Lingfield. This part-time role (22 hours per week across four days) offers variety and genuine team support—a place where your contributions genuinely matter and your ideas are welcomed.

The practice has recently extended consulting rooms, updated the waiting area with dedicated cat and dog zones, and offers a full range of first opinion services including dentistry, radiography, and surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Greeting clients in person and over the phone, managing appointment bookings and enquiries with empathy and professionalism
• Handling the complete client journey: welcoming, booking, payment processing, and farewells
• Managing the practice diary, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating scheduling
• Processing prescription requests and allocating medications for clinical team review
• Contributing to stock control, ordering supplies, and receiving deliveries (including light lifting)
• Running end-of-day banking and financial reconciliation
• Maintaining pristine client-facing areas: cleaning, restocking, updating displays and information packs throughout the day
• Actively suggesting improvements to enhance experience for clients, patients, and staff

Requirements

• Friendly, organised, and enthusiastic approach to client-facing work
• Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
• Strong communication skills and a calm, professional demeanor under pressure
• Competence with multi-tasking in a busy environment
• Reliable and punctual

Shift Pattern

Part-time, 22 hours per week across four days: Monday 9am–3pm, Tuesday 2pm–6pm, Thursday 2pm–7pm, Friday 12pm–7pm
