Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)

About the Role

This is a full-time position perfect for an RVN who has recently qualified or has up to 1 year of experience under your belt. You’ll be joining a modern, well-equipped practice in Blackheath where nurses genuinely drive clinical care—not just assist from the sidelines. With 40 hours per week (including 1 in 4 Saturday shifts), you’ll have a manageable schedule that lets you balance your career with real life.

Practice owner Idara leads a genuinely supportive team of experienced professionals, all committed to delivering excellent patient care. You’ll work with laser therapy, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and run various clinics. This isn’t a “just a number” environment—everyone plays a real role, and your input matters from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Anaesthesia and inpatient care management
• Nurse consults and patient assessments
• Laboratory work and sample processing
• Theatre support and surgical nursing
• General clinical nursing across all practice areas
• Mentoring student nurses (where applicable)
• Contributing collaboratively to the practice’s clinical standards and approach

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
• Recently qualified or up to 1 year of qualified experience
• Confident, collaborative approach to patient and team care
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to be involved across all practice areas
• Experience mentoring student nurses is advantageous (but not essential)
