Client and Pet Care Advisor (Sedgley Branch)

About the Role

This is a part-time receptionist position offering 15 hours per week across 2-3 days, with flexibility to extend to 5 days if needed. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, working flexible hours between 8am and 8pm, including one Saturday or Sunday shift per month and one bank holiday per year (split between the Sedgley and Dudley branches). The role sits in the heart of a friendly practice where emotional intelligence is just as important as efficiency.

You’ll be supporting a small animal practice that’s been serving the Black Country for over 50 years, now part of the Linnaeus group within Mars Veterinary Health. This is front-of-house work that directly impacts how clients experience their pet’s healthcare journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer calls and emails promptly, managing client enquiries with care and professionalism
• Schedule appointments and handle veterinary administration tasks
• Process payments, manage debt chasing, and complete end-of-day banking
• Support pet owners through complicated and emotionally challenging situations with their animals
• Competently handle and dispense medications
• Maintain general housekeeping and practice cleanliness standards

Requirements

• Positive, proactive attitude
• Computer literacy
• Veterinary experience is helpful but not essential
• Customer-facing experience is beneficial
