🕐 Schedule & Rota

One Saturday morning shift (8:00am–1:00pm) every five weeks. No overnight or night shift requirement.

About the Role

You’ll be part of a well-established nursing team at Boness Veterinary Hospital, working across a busy main hospital and a nearby branch surgery. This full-time position runs 40 hours per week over four or five days (8:00am–7:30pm), with one Saturday morning shift (8:00am–1:00pm) every five weeks—a manageable pattern that respects your personal time.

Whether you’re newly qualified or experienced, you’ll find plenty of scope to develop your clinical skills. You’ll work alongside 13 experienced RVNs, a dedicated lab technician, and a veterinary team that includes multiple certificate holders, giving you excellent learning opportunities and genuine peer support throughout your day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care across all aspects of small animal work—medical, surgical, and supportive nursing
  • Work confidently in a busy hospital environment, supporting diagnostic imaging, surgical theatres, in-house lab work, and inpatient care
  • Provide excellent patient and client care with a proactive, positive approach
  • Collaborate with the wider team of vets, nurses, and client care staff in a genuinely supportive setting
  • Support operations across both the main hospital and branch surgery in Flitwick

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced, busy environment
  • Strong commitment to excellent patient and client care
  • Ability to work as part of a close-knit, supportive team
  • Proactive and positive approach to your work

About the Practice

Boness Veterinary Hospital is a busy, RCVS-accredited small animal practice located in Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire, with a branch in Flitwick. The hospital offers a full range of services including diagnostic imaging, surgical theatres, in-house laboratory, and separate cat and dog wards. Part of IVC Evidensia (Mars Veterinary Health), the practice also provides 24/7 emergency cover and sees referrals from other practices in the area.
