About the Role

Boyce & Houston Vets is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its clinical team on a full-time basis. Conveniently positioned between Glasgow and Loch Lomond with excellent public transport access, this role offers an ideal balance between professional challenge and personal lifestyle. You’ll work with Saturday mornings on a 1:4 rota, with no out-of-hours responsibilities—giving you genuine time off when you need it.

The practice is fully equipped with two operating theatres, five consultation rooms, separate cat and dog wards, an isolation kennel facility, multiparameter monitoring, new ultrasonography, and digital X-ray systems enhanced with Signal Pet AI. You’ll be part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality first-opinion care to dogs, cats, and small pets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Admit and discharge patients with attention to detail and client communication
  • Monitor anaesthesia during surgical procedures
  • Prepare and maintain theatre standards
  • Conduct nurse-led clinics and client consultations
  • Perform laboratory work and diagnostic procedures
  • Support the wider practice team in delivering excellent patient care and clinical standards
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of nursing protocols and patient care pathways

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Experience working in a clinical practice environment with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Effective organisational and workload management abilities
  • Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous professional improvement
  • Team-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high standards of care
