About the Role

You’ll be joining Bridlington Vets for Pets as a Veterinary Surgeon in a thriving seaside practice. This is a permanent full-time position with flexible hours to suit your lifestyle, and there’s no out-of-hours cover required – the practice is closed Sundays, giving you genuine time to rest and recharge.

The role includes some sole charge work, but you won’t be navigating it alone. You’ll be supported by a close-knit, experienced team including the new Clinical Lead, Amber, who’s genuinely invested in mentoring colleagues. The practice sees a loyal and growing client base with a diverse caseload, so no two days are quite the same. Located just under a mile from Bridlington’s seafront and close to the train station, the purpose-built facility is modern and well-equipped.

Bridlington itself is a charming seaside town with two award-winning beaches and easy access to the Yorkshire Wolds and North York Moors – perfect for hiking, cycling, or simply clearing your head on your days off. The RSPB Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve (famous for puffins and gannets) is just a short drive away.

  • Provide high-quality small animal veterinary care to an established and growing client base
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with the nursing and support team
  • Some sole charge shifts, with full support from colleagues
  • Contribute to the practice’s community-focused ethos and commitment to animal welfare

Requirements

  • Registered as a Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS
  • Experience in small animal practice (level of experience not specified – the practice welcomes applications from varied backgrounds)
  • Willingness to engage in CPD and professional development

Benefits

  • Competitive salary up to £75,000 FTE
  • £5,000 welcome bonus
  • £5,000 relocation package
  • Flexible working arrangements – adjusted start/finish times, reduced days per week, or flexible rotas can all be discussed
  • Paid professional memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • Generous CPD allowance with certificate support
  • AXA private healthcare and income protection
  • 20% discount at Vets for Pets, Pets at Home, and the Groom Room
  • No out-of-hours shifts; practice closed Sundays
