No out-of-hours commitments. Weekend rota 1 in 5 (daytime only).
This is a permanent, full-time position (40 hours per week) with no out-of-hours commitments and a manageable 1:5 weekend rota. You’ll join Carmarthen Veterinary Centre as part of a collaborative clinical team in a purpose-built, award-winning hospital serving the heart of West Wales.
The role offers a flexible consult and surgery mix, with full support for developing your clinical interests. Whether you’re confident with general surgery and want to deepen that skill set, or prefer consult-only work, the practice is open to tailoring the role to suit you. A surgical background is particularly valued as the team builds its surgical capability. You’ll be encouraged to contribute to clinical discussions and decision-making in a forward-thinking environment.
Carmarthen itself is a historic market town surrounded by beautiful countryside, just a short drive from the Welsh coastline. It’s an ideal location if you value access to nature, beaches, and good local amenities alongside a supportive professional community.
Carmarthen Veterinary Centre and Hospital is a purpose-built, award-winning multi-discipline practice serving West Wales. The team comprises 8 small animal vets, supported by experienced nursing and administrative staff.
