About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the nursing team at a well-established small animal practice in Alton, Hampshire. You’ll be at the heart of patient care, working across a range of surgical and medical cases in a modern, well-equipped facility. The role offers the chance to develop your skills further whilst working within a collaborative team environment that genuinely supports professional development.

This is a full-time position with a manageable rota that respects work-life balance. You’ll be part of a practice committed to evidence-based nursing care and will have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care across surgical, medical, and preventative procedures
  • Assist veterinary surgeons during consultations and surgical procedures
  • Monitor and manage patient welfare, including post-operative recovery and hospitalised animals
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and nursing documentation
  • Support the practice team in delivering excellent client communication and education
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the nursing department and practice protocols
  • Participate in health and safety compliance and infection control procedures

Requirements

  • Current RVN registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS)
  • Strong clinical nursing knowledge and practical experience
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to animal welfare
  • Ability to work as part of a team and manage a busy caseload
  • Professional approach to health and safety in a clinical environment
