About the Role

This part-time permanent position offers you a genuine opportunity to develop veterinary skills in a practice with deep roots in the Norfolk community. You’ll be working 35 hours per week with scheduling flexibility, supporting the clinical team across inpatient care, laboratory work, and patient handling. Chapelfield Veterinary Partnership operates five small animal practices across Norwich and the surrounding area, plus a dedicated equine centre—giving you exposure to a varied, dynamic veterinary environment.

You’ll work closely with experienced veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses, learning best practice in animal care and client communication every shift. The practice is known for delivering high-quality care, and your role is central to maintaining those standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on inpatient care, including monitoring and basic nursing support
  • Assist veterinary surgeons and nurses with patient restraint and handling
  • Run routine in-house laboratory tests under direction
  • Maintain clinical areas to the practice’s high hygiene standards, including restocking and equipment care
  • Support the wider team to ensure the clinic runs smoothly and safely
  • Contribute to a positive, compassionate experience for both patients and their owners

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for animal welfare and patient care
  • Reliable, motivated, and collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
  • Good communication skills with colleagues and clients
  • Proactive attitude to learning, with openness to feedback and development
  • No prior veterinary experience required—training will be provided

About the Practice

Chapelfield Veterinary Partnership has been a cornerstone of veterinary care in Norwich and Norfolk for many years.
