Veterinary Receptionist – Part-Time

About the Role

You’ll be the heart of Clockhouse Vets’ reception team, greeting clients and their pets, managing diaries, and keeping things running smoothly during a busy 24-hour week. This is a part-time role working four 6-hour shifts Monday to Friday (8 am–7:30 pm), plus a Saturday rota on a 1:6 basis—so you’ll have plenty of predictability alongside fair weekend coverage.

Based in the charming Gloucestershire town of Stroud, this practice is committed to providing excellent service to their small animal clients while supporting their team through thick and thin. You’ll be joining a local, friendly practice where your sense of humour and calm demeanour matter just as much as your IT skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage reception duties: booking clients and small animal consultations, taking payments, and handling administrative tasks
• Answer telephones and manage enquiries from pet owners
• Organise vets’ and nurses’ diaries to keep the practice on schedule
• Handling medications and administrative tasks
• Support the team during busy periods while maintaining professionalism and empathy with clients
• Contribute to a welcoming, efficient reception environment

Requirements

• Proficient IT skills (essential)
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to multitask and stay organised in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and empathy with pet owners
• Team-player mentality with the ability to maintain composure and humour during busy times
• Previous veterinary reception experience is advantageous but not essential
