Registered Veterinary Nurse (Hospital)

About the Role

This is a full-time, daytime-only position (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) at a purpose-built 24-hour hospital in Brighton – no weekends or on-call duties required. You’ll be working with a varied and interesting caseload, including both emergency and advanced medical cases referred from Coastway’s five branch practices and other local veterinary services.

The hospital is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and a fully stocked in-house laboratory. You’ll work alongside a talented nursing and support team in dedicated cat, dog, exotic, isolation, and day procedure wards. The team includes multiple certificate holders with specialist interests spanning orthopaedics, ophthalmology, advanced imaging, and exotic medicine – so there’s plenty of opportunity to learn and develop your skills in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a range of medical and surgical cases in a busy hospital setting
• Provide high-quality nursing care and support to patients across multiple specialist wards
• Collaborate with the nursing and veterinary team to drive clinical standards and contribute to team development
• Demonstrate strong organisational and multitasking skills, prioritising tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail in patient care records and procedures
• Support the hospital’s commitment to excellent animal welfare and client communication

Requirements

• Current RVN registration
• Proven experience working in a hospital or high-case-load environment
• Confidence managing a diverse range of medical and surgical cases
• Excellent nursing and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
• Demonstrable passion for animal welfare and commitment to high-quality patient care
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
