Registered Veterinary Nurse – Night Role (Out-of-Hours ECC)

About the Role

This is a dedicated night shift position launching April 2026 as part of a brand-new 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care service at Colchester’s purpose-built referral hospital. You’ll work 5 nights on (a mix of 7pm–7am and 8pm–8am shifts) followed by 10 full nights off, averaging just 28 hours per week—genuinely supporting life outside work. The role is based in Colchester, Essex, within a multi-disciplinary referral team where you’ll have real autonomy managing complex overnight cases alongside advanced and residency-trained ECC vets.

This isn’t overnight kennelling; it’s night-focused critical care nursing. You’ll own inpatient monitoring, respond to emergencies, manage advanced anaesthesia and recovery, and hand over to the day team. The hospital is state-of-the-art with cutting-edge diagnostics and dedicated ICU facilities, so the cases and learning opportunities are genuinely referral-level.
