About the Role

This is your chance to join an established, friendly team at a purpose-built small animal practice with over 75 years of community presence. You’ll work a structured 40-hour week across four days with a guaranteed fixed day off—plus a manageable 1:6 Saturday morning rota and no overnight on-call duties. It’s the kind of predictable schedule that actually lets you plan a life outside work.

You’ll see a varied caseload that keeps you developing professionally, with a good mix of consulting and surgical days. The practice offers excellent facilities including five dedicated consulting rooms, a separate exotics ward, full x-ray and ultrasound capabilities, three types of endoscopes, and a dedicated surgical theatre. Part-time and fixed-term options are available if flexibility matters to you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver routine consultations and surgical procedures across the small animal caseload
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment with experienced peers
  • Provide high-quality care to pets and clients with a focus on client communication
  • Participate in the structured Saturday morning rota (1:6 frequency)
  • Support the practice’s commitment to clinical excellence and community service

Requirements

  • RCVS registration or RCVS-recognised veterinary qualification
  • Minimum 2 years’ post-graduation experience as a veterinary surgeon
  • Competence with routine surgical procedures and consultations
  • Strong commitment to delivering excellent client and patient care
