About the Role

This is your chance to shine as the welcoming face of Companion Care Redhill, a small animal practice where client satisfaction and pet care go hand in hand. You’ll be the vital link between clients and the clinical team, managing the day-to-day flow of the practice with confidence and warmth. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, including 1 in 3 weekends—part-time at 32+ hours is also welcome.

Your days will be dynamic: greeting clients and their pets with genuine enthusiasm, handling payments and future bookings through the practice’s online system, and coordinating the smooth running of daily routines. You’ll comfort anxious pet owners, celebrate first-time puppy visits, and ensure every client leaves knowing they’ve received exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding client service and create a welcoming first impression when clients arrive with their pets
  • Manage payments, coordinate future appointments using the online booking system, and maintain smooth daily practice operations
  • Build strong relationships with clients, their pets, and the clinical team—your people skills are crucial
  • Offer guidance on practice services and additional offerings, keeping yourself fully up-to-speed with what the practice provides
  • Handle a range of client situations with calm, attentiveness, and empathy—from delivering difficult news to sharing in happy moments
  • Demonstrate computer literacy and confidence with practice management systems

Requirements

  • Previous medical receptionist experience is essential
  • Friendly, welcoming demeanour with a genuine love of pets
  • Strong people skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Computer literate and confident with online booking systems
  • Enthusiasm, drive, and a genuine passion for client service
  • Ability to handle diverse situations with professionalism and empathy
