ECC Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a full-time ECC Veterinary Surgeon position at a prestigious, independently owned 24-hour hospital in central London. You’ll be joining a large, specialist team dedicated to delivering premium emergency and critical care to genuinely unwell patients who need your expertise. Unlike typical on-call setups with high consultation fees and limited workup, this role offers genuine caseload with appropriate fee structures that allow you to deliver the level of care you’d wish to provide.

The rota is structured as 7 nights on, 14 days off—designed to give you genuine downtime between shifts. On-site accommodation is provided for your night shifts, and you’ll benefit from unlimited online CPD support, full certificate allowance, and support with visa applications and employment transfers if needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with and treat critical inpatients presenting to the 24-hour emergency facility
• Perform surgical procedures and emergency stabilisation as required
• Work alongside a large, trained, and fully qualified nursing and support team to deliver comprehensive care
• Collaborate with the day team at rounds to establish and continue care plans for overnight inpatients
• Utilise the full range of on-site diagnostic and surgical facilities, including endoscopy, CT, and MRI (arriving 2025)
• Contribute to a vet-led, decision-making culture that prioritises clinical excellence and staff development

Requirements

• Veterinary Surgeon qualification with 2+ years post-qualification experience
• RCVS registration (preferred)
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Ability to work independently within a supported team environment
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and delivering high-standard emergency care
