About the Role

Creature Comforts is opening a brand-new practice in Balham, and they’re building something different—a veterinary clinic designed with beauty, technology, and genuine care at its heart. This full-time position offers you the chance to be part of that mission from day one, working alongside highly skilled professionals in a clinic purpose-built for modern, elegant veterinary care.

You’ll take on a varied nursing role that includes nurse consultations, general anaesthetic monitoring, surgical support, and patient screening. Although you’ll be based primarily at the Balham site, you may occasionally cover shifts at other locations as the practice grows.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct patient screening procedures, including auscultation and sample procurement
• Monitor general anaesthetics and maintain detailed, accurate records
• Record comprehensive clinical notes and administer treatments as directed by the vet team
• Participate in the nurse consult rota to deliver this valuable service to clients
• Maintain surgical suite hygiene and disinfect equipment to the highest standards
• Assist veterinarians during invasive and non-invasive procedures
• Support unsettled animals with urgency and compassion
• Monitor and manage clinical stock levels
• Educate pet owners about routine and specialised care procedures
• Implement all clinical protocols and contribute to continuous improvement of practice standards

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification or equivalent
• Demonstrable experience as a veterinary nurse
• Nurse consulting experience
• Experience with general anaesthetic monitoring
• Well-honed surgical etiquette and quarantining procedures
• Experience with veterinary practice management systems
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and show initiative
