No out-of-hours work required. Saturday morning rota only, approximately 2:6 frequency (daytime: 8:30 am–12 pm).

About the Role

This is an 18-month fixed-term contract position based at Crossways Vets, a well-established practice perched on the edge of the South Downs National Park near Storrington. You’ll work 40 hours across 4 or 5 days per week with a share in the Saturday morning rota (approximately 1:6 frequency). There is no out-of-hours work whatsoever—you’ll work daytime-only hours as the practice opens 9 am–6 pm (branch sites 8:30 am–6 pm) with Saturday mornings 8:30 am–12 pm only. The practice is well-established with a loyal client base and benefits from a modern, well-equipped facility including laser, laparoscopy, ultrasound, dental X-ray, digital X-ray, in-house laboratory equipment, and comprehensive soft tissue and orthopaedic capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide small animal clinical care across a varied caseload, consulting within flexible daytime hours
  • Work as part of a collaborative team of 5 vets (including 2 Advanced Practitioners and 1 with a Certificate in Small Animal Medicine)
  • Support the practice’s community engagement, including partnerships with Dogs Trust, Guide Dogs, RSPCA, and Cats Protection
  • Participate in the Saturday morning rota on a shared basis

Requirements

  • Current veterinary registration with the RCVS
  • Experience in small animal practice (level of experience not specified—all levels considered)
  • Willingness to work as part of a supportive team environment

Crossways Vets is a progressive, well-established small animal practice located in Storrington, West Sussex, at the edge of the South Downs National Park.
