About the Role

You’ll be joining the nursing team at Damory Vets, a well-established mixed practice nestled in the Georgian riverside market town of Blandford Forum. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, with night shifts and weekends on a shared rota—2 weeknights and 2 split weekends across an 11-week cycle with time off in lieu built in. The practice runs its own out-of-hours service with a nurse on-site and vet on-call, giving you genuine opportunities to develop your emergency and critical care skills while supporting real patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-standard patient care across all clinical areas of a mixed practice
• Work hands-on in clinical nursing duties—no reception responsibilities, so you focus purely on nursing
• Support emergency and critical care cases during out-of-hours shifts, working alongside the on-call vet
• Take initiative and use your full skill set in a supportive team environment
• Opportunity to mentor student veterinary nurses and become a clinical coach as you develop
• Contribute to a varied caseload in a practice with Cat Friendly Clinic (Silver) and Dog Friendly Clinic accreditation

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse qualification (RCVS registered)
• Passion for delivering excellent patient care and professional development
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call within the shared rota
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative, supportive team
