About the Role

Davies Veterinary Specialists is searching for an enthusiastic veterinary physiotherapist to join their established rehabilitation services on a part-time basis. You’ll work within a dynamic referral hospital setting, delivering clinical care alongside a well-resourced, collaborative team that genuinely invests in your professional development.

This role offers hands-on experience across multiple therapeutic disciplines—physiotherapy, acupuncture, pain management, hydrotherapy (underwater treadmill therapy), and orthotic clinics—alongside the broader expertise of 40 veterinary specialists from across the referral centre. You’ll have regular opportunities to present cases and learning to colleagues and at internal and external CPD events, embedding yourself within a community of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical veterinary physiotherapy services to referred neurological and orthopaedic inpatients and outpatients
  • Provide professional, high-quality care to referring veterinary surgeons, clients, and their animals
  • Participate in teaching and learning activities, contributing to Davies Veterinary Specialists colleagues’ CPD and presenting at internal and external events
  • Maintain CPD requirements in line with your governing body’s current recommendations, combining personal development with practice needs
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team and the wider 40-specialist referral centre

Requirements

  • Membership of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT) Category A or B (2nd Year Veterinary Physiotherapy Students), or the Register for Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP)
  • Ideally, experience working within a hospital environment
  • Hydrotherapy experience desirable but not essential
  • Commitment to delivering consistently high-quality, professional service

Davies Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral practice based in Higham Gobion, Hertfordshire, delivering high-level clinical and surgical care. The team comprises Chartered Physiotherapists specialising in small animals (ACPAT Cat A), European Board-Certified Veterinary Anaesthetists, Therapy Assistants, and 40+ veterinary specialists across multiple disciplines.
