Full Time
Ready to launch your vet career with genuine mentorship and no sink-or-swim pressure? DNA Vetcare's structured Graduate Programme pairs you with experienced vets in a supportive independent practice network where your development is the priority.

About the Role

This is a structured two-year Graduate Programme designed to build your confidence and clinical skills from day one. You’ll work alongside experienced veterinary surgeons in DNA Vetcare’s independent practice network, gaining exposure to a diverse range of small animal cases, surgical procedures, diagnostics, and client interactions in a supportive environment.

Year 1 focuses on clinical foundations and confidence-building—you’ll work extended consults, receive hands-on coaching, and progress to sole charge work only when you feel genuinely ready. Year 2 shifts toward professional development, where you’ll explore clinical interests, develop leadership skills, and lead a graduate project that makes a real impact on the practice.

Throughout the programme, you’ll receive structured mentorship, regular reviews, and dedicated CPD time to support your growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver first-class small animal veterinary care under mentorship in Year 1, progressing to independent practice in Year 2
  • Conduct clinical consultations, perform routine and soft tissue surgery, and interpret diagnostic findings
  • Develop a clinical interest during Year 2 and lead a practice improvement project
  • Build relationships with clients and contribute to the practice’s reputation for compassionate care
  • Engage in structured learning and CPD activities throughout the programme
  • Work collaboratively with the wider DNA Vetcare network of surgeries

Requirements

  • Recently qualified or new graduate veterinary surgeon (RCVS registered)
  • Enthusiasm to learn, develop, and progress in a supportive environment
  • Strong clinical awareness and commitment to animal welfare
  • Professional communication skills and genuine passion for client care

Benefits

  • Competitive starting salary of £40,000
  • £1,500 annual CPD allowance plus 5 days dedicated CPD leave per year
  • RCVS and VDS fees covered (subject to confirmation)
  • Subsidised accommodation available at selected practice locations
  • Pastoral and wellbeing support throughout the programme
  • Structured mentorship and regular professional reviews
