About the Role

Dragon Vets is based at Cheltenham Racecourse and operates as a modern, air-conditioned small animal practice with excellent on-site facilities. You’ll join a collaborative team where you’ll be the first point of contact for every client, setting the tone for their experience from the moment they walk through the door or pick up the phone.

This is a full-time position working 37.25 hours per week on a shift pattern between 8 am and 7 pm, plus one Saturday morning (8 am–1 pm) every four weeks. You’ll play a vital role in keeping the practice running smoothly while supporting both clients and clinical colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients in person and over the telephone with a professional, welcoming manner
• Manage the appointment diary, booking clients in and coordinating schedules
• Handle client payments and financial transactions
• Answer enquiries and provide information about services
• Support communication between clients and clinical staff
• Multitask effectively during busy periods while maintaining attention to detail
• Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical team members to ensure positive client and patient journeys

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and a professional, personable approach
• Proven experience in a customer-facing role with strong service standards
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload in a busy environment
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• A collaborative team player with a willingness to learn and respond to feedback
• Experience in a veterinary environment (desirable)

About the Practice

Dragon Vets operates from Cheltenham Racecourse as part of IVC Evidensia, the UK and Europe’s leading veterinary care group. The practice is a modern, air-conditioned facility equipped with an in-house laboratory (including on-site blood gas analysis), high-quality diagnostic and surgical facilities, and access to specialist equipment including CT, digital radiography, advanced ultrasonography, ECG, and video-endoscopes. Theatres are fitted with multiparameter monitoring, Ligasure, and laparoscopic capabilities.
