🕐 Schedule & Rota

1:3 Saturday mornings only; no overnight or night-shift on-call duties.

About the Role

Join an established small animal practice where realistic workloads and strong team support are genuinely embedded in daily operations, not just corporate promises. This role offers full-time or part-time flexibility, with no out-of-hours commitments beyond a manageable 1:3 Saturday morning rota. You’ll work a mix of early shifts (8:00am–4:30pm) and late shifts (11:00am–7:30pm), with genuine scope to adjust your schedule and working pattern around personal commitments.

Located just off the M20 in Chatham, the practice is conveniently commutable from London in under an hour. You’ll have access to a deceptively spacious, well-equipped facility serving a stable and loyal client base—the kind of continuity that makes case management sensible and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary-care small animal veterinary services across 4 consult rooms
  • Utilise modern diagnostic facilities including dedicated X-ray and ultrasound room
  • Perform surgical procedures in the large modern theatre with full prep support
  • Work collaboratively with 3.5 RVNs and 1 SVN to deliver integrated patient care
  • Contribute to continuity of care within an established, loyal client base
  • Participate in Saturday morning rotation (1:3 frequency)

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS)
  • Full-time or part-time availability considered
  • Professional indemnity insurance (VDS cover provided)

Benefits

  • Accommodation: Fully furnished, rent-free on-site flat (optional benefit—ideal as a foundation while settling into the role or relocating)
  • Welcome Bonus: Up to £5,000
  • Salary: Up to £75,000 depending on experience
  • Leave: 6.6 weeks’ holiday including bank holidays, plus your birthday off
  • Professional Development: £1,250 CPD allowance plus 40 hours paid CPD annually; access to Vetlexicon online resources and IVC Evidensia Training Centres
  • Clinical Support: £1,250 annual Care Fund for every vet
  • Professional Memberships: BVA membership, VDS cover, and RCVS fees covered
  • Health & Wellbeing: Private medical insurance, 24/7 confidential Employee Assistance Programme, enhanced family-friendly leave and pay
  • Lifestyle Schemes: Cycle to Work and Green Car schemes (subject to eligibility)
  • Staff Perks: Retail discounts, cashback offers, and reduced-cost veterinary care for your own pets
