Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This is a fixed-term maternity cover position for 12 months, offering the chance to join Easipetcare Derby as a full-time Veterinary Receptionist. You’ll be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, delivering friendly, professional service in a busy, well-equipped practice close to local amenities and excellent transport links (just 30 minutes from the train station with a direct service to London).

Working Monday to Friday with scheduled Saturday mornings on a rota basis with time off in lieu, you’ll support a talented team of vets, nurses and support staff in delivering comprehensive small animal care.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients and pets with a friendly, professional demeanour and provide compassionate support
• Schedule and manage appointments, maintaining an efficient calendar system
• Answer phone calls, emails and client inquiries; provide information about services including Health Care Plans
• Collect and update client information in the practice computer system
• Handle medication management and filing/organisation of paperwork
• Process payments for services and manage end-of-day banking
• Support the smooth day-to-day operations of a busy front desk

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Genuine passion for working with animals and their owners
• Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently
• Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and practice management software)

About the Practice

Easipetcare Derby is a well-established small animal practice with a large, loyal client base. The practice is situated close to local amenities and features excellent facilities including four consultation rooms, a separate cattery and kennels, isolation ward, x-ray and ultrasound equipment, theatre, prep room and in-house laboratory. Located on London Road with free car parking and excellent transport links including the A52 and M1 motorway access.

The team comprises experienced vets, nurses and support staff working collaboratively in a fast-paced, professional environment. The practice is part of IVC Evidensia, a leading veterinary group providing access to extensive resources, training and development opportunities.
