Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You’ll be the heart of the reception team at East Grinstead Vets, a busy small animal practice set in the picturesque East Grinstead area, with satellite branches in Crawley and Copthorne. This is a full-time role working 38 hours across 4 days (including every other Saturday morning), so you’ll enjoy a good work-life balance while being part of a friendly, supportive team.

Your days will be varied and rewarding—answering phones, booking appointments, managing payments, helping clients with health plans, and supporting the smooth running of the clinic. You’ll ensure every visit is a positive experience for both pets and their owners, all while enjoying the benefit of having the Ashdown Forest on your doorstep for walks and fresh air.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer phones and manage appointment bookings for the practice
• Process payments and support clients with health plan enquiries
• Provide a warm, welcoming reception experience for clients and their pets
• Support the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic
• Work collaboratively with the veterinary and nursing team

Requirements

• Experience working as a receptionist, ideally in a veterinary environment
• Warm, friendly demeanour with excellent people skills
• Love of animals and genuine passion for customer service
• Ability to multitask and manage a busy reception desk
