About the Role

You’ll be joining a dynamic 6-vet practice delivering high-quality small animal care in a supportive, collegial environment. This role offers a genuine mix of consultations, medical casework, and routine surgery—with experienced colleagues always on hand. The practice runs flexible, full-time shifts across 4 days plus one in 3 Saturday mornings, with genuine scope to move to part-time arrangements if that suits your lifestyle better.

East Grinstead is a vibrant market town with excellent leisure facilities, a cinema, and easy rail links to London. You’ll be minutes from Ashdown Forest for weekend walks, with Brighton and the South Downs within reach, and Gatwick Airport just 20 minutes away for escaping on those well-earned breaks.

The practice is exceptionally well-equipped: spacious consulting rooms, generous kennel capacity, ultrasound, digital x-ray, endoscopes, K-laser, full in-house laboratory, and a dedicated dental suite with dental x-ray. You’ll have access to mentors, regional clinical coaches, and peer networks across the IVC Evidensia group—a network of over 900 practices and referral hospitals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consultations and diagnose across a varied small animal caseload
  • Work up medical cases and perform routine surgical procedures
  • Collaborate with 6 nurses and 2 practice managers to maintain high standards of patient and client care
  • Contribute to the clinical culture of the practice, supporting colleagues’ development and sharing your own knowledge
  • Work both independently and as part of a team, taking responsibility for a wide range of cases with peer support available

Requirements

  • Veterinary degree with RCVS registration (or eligible to register)
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Proactive approach to learning, openness to feedback, and commitment to professional development
  • Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
