Eastcott Veterinary Hospital
Apply before: Apr 27, 2026
1 in 8 weekends with 2 days in lieu the following week. Minimal on-call due to dedicated ECC team on site.
This is a permanent full-time position (open to part-time applicants) at Eastcott Veterinary Hospital, a modern multi-disciplinary facility in Swindon. You’ll work a 40-hour week across a 4-day pattern with 1-in-8 weekend cover, receiving 2 days in lieu the following week. With a dedicated on-site ECC team, on-call duties are genuinely minimal, allowing you to focus on primary care and develop your clinical interests.
You’ll be based primarily at the main hospital but will also rotate through the practice’s consulting-only branches, giving you variety and exposure to different patient populations. This is a role that balances clinical excellence with genuine work-life balance—something rare in modern practice.
Eastcott Veterinary Hospital is a state-of-the-art primary care and referral facility operating 24-hour emergency services. The multi-disciplinary team specialises in Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, and Neurology. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic facilities including a CT scanner, ultrasound and x-ray suites, extensive operating theatres, a dentistry suite, and a well-equipped laboratory.
Eastcott is part of Linnaeus and Mars Veterinary Health, the largest family-owned veterinary company in the world. Driven by purpose rather than short-term profit, Linnaeus operates a network of primary care and referral practices across the UK and Ireland. The culture emphasises commitment to excellence, colleague wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, with access to a global network of specialists and comprehensive development opportunities.
