About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position (open to part-time applicants) at Eastcott Veterinary Hospital, a modern multi-disciplinary facility in Swindon. You’ll work a 40-hour week across a 4-day pattern with 1-in-8 weekend cover, receiving 2 days in lieu the following week. With a dedicated on-site ECC team, on-call duties are genuinely minimal, allowing you to focus on primary care and develop your clinical interests.

You’ll be based primarily at the main hospital but will also rotate through the practice’s consulting-only branches, giving you variety and exposure to different patient populations. This is a role that balances clinical excellence with genuine work-life balance—something rare in modern practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver primary care consultations and treatments across small animal medicine and surgery
  • Contribute to the hospital’s emergency and routine services working alongside a collaborative 13-vet team
  • Participate in case discussions and clinical learning within a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment
  • Rotate through both the main hospital and satellite consulting branches
  • Engage in professional development activities including mentoring recent graduates and exploring specialist interests
  • Contribute to practice initiatives such as the Green Team and social events

Requirements

  • Qualified veterinary surgeon with confidence across all general practice areas including medicine and surgery
  • Surgical Certificate or currently working towards one (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team ethos with a collaborative approach to clinical work
  • Can-do attitude, determination, and positivity
  • Strong organisational skills
