Orthopaedic Referral Surgeon

About the Role

This is a part-time position for an experienced orthopaedic specialist to join Eastcott Veterinary Referrals, a tier 3 multidisciplinary hospital in Swindon. You’ll work in a truly collaborative environment with fellow specialists in anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, dentistry, neurology, cardiology, and ophthalmology.

The hospital boasts state-of-the-art facilities including full minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and interventional radiology (IR) capabilities, plus a well-established total hip replacement programme where you’ll have the opportunity to mentor other surgeons through Biomedtrix accreditation. The caseload is excellent, interesting, and diverse—exactly what referral specialists crave.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist orthopaedic surgical care to referral cases across the hospital
• Perform advanced procedures utilising MIS and IR facilities
• Lead and mentor junior surgeons through the total hip replacement accreditation programme
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on complex cases
• Contribute to the hospital’s clinical excellence and care standards

Requirements

• RCVS, ECVS, or ACVS diplomate status in orthopaedic surgery (or post-residency with significant orthopaedic experience)
• Proven experience in orthopaedic referral work
• Strong collaborative approach to multidisciplinary practice
