Referral Surgeon (Fixed Term)

About the Role

You’ll be joining Eastcott Referrals on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working 2 days per week to cover maternity leave within the surgical department. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exceptionally talented and supportive team of specialist surgeons in a modern, well-resourced referral hospital.

Eastcott Referrals is a tier 3, ISFM gold status facility situated in Swindon, positioned perfectly between the Wiltshire countryside and excellent transport links to London, the South West, and Midlands. The practice recently completed a major extension and refurbishment, offering state-of-the-art facilities where you’ll have access to cutting-edge technology including full minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and interventional radiology (IR) capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist surgical services across the hospital’s diverse and interesting caseload
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including specialists in anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, DOMFS, neurology, cardiology, and ophthalmology
• Contribute to the hospital’s well-established total hip replacement programme, including potential involvement in mentoring surgeons through the Biomedtrix accreditation scheme
• Work within a truly collaborative hospital environment that prioritises patient care excellence

Requirements

• Board certification from ECVS (European College of Veterinary Surgeons) or ACVS (American College of Veterinary Surgeons), or completed ECVS/ACVS accredited residency
• Valid RCVS registration
• Experience in referral-level surgical practice
