Evening shift role (5:30pm–10:30pm) supporting inpatient wards and ICU; not traditional out-of-hours emergency cover.

About the Role

Join Eastcott Referrals as a Registered Veterinary Nurse supporting inpatient wards and ICU care during evening hours. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract offering 25 hours per week, working Monday to Friday from 5:30pm to 10:30pm – perfect if you’re looking for meaningful clinical work without full-time commitment.

You’ll be part of a close-knit, well-established team at this innovative tier 3 multidisciplinary referral hospital just off the M4 in Swindon, Wiltshire. The practice handles cases across cardiology, orthopaedics, soft tissue, neurology, dentistry, ophthalmology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, and primary care – giving you real variety in your day-to-day work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care for patients from a range of referral disciplines including internal medicine, neurology, soft tissue, orthopaedics, and cardiology
  • Support dental, ophthalmology, and diagnostic imaging cases, as well as out-of-hours and primary care patients
  • Manage evening and night-time patient care, focusing on improving clinical outcomes and departmental efficiency
  • Work as part of a supportive PCA team and wider nursing staff to deliver exceptional care standards
  • Apply all core nursing skills: patient monitoring, post-operative care, anaesthetic support, catheter care, and record-keeping

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with at least 1 year post-qualification experience
  • Team-spirited and passionate about quality patient care
  • Previous referral hospital experience desirable but not essential – full training and support will be provided
