Fenton Vets
Apply before: Feb 10, 2026
Equally shared rota with nursing support and telephone handling service. Each weekend day counts as one full day of the week. After 10pm, local OOH service takes over.
You’ll be joining Fenton Vets’ small animal team in Haverfordwest, a well-established independent practice serving Pembrokeshire since 1950. This is a 4.5-day week position with a genuinely shared out-of-hours rota—each weekend day counts as one of your full days that week, and after 10pm, the local OOH service takes over. You’ll work 8:30am–5:30pm (6:30pm on call days), backed by nursing support and a telephone handling service.
The practice offers a rewarding and varied caseload including significant neutering volume and work with a local charity. You’ll have access to excellent facilities across two sites: the main Haverfordwest location features four consulting rooms, a dedicated cat room, quiet room, separate wards for dogs/cats/isolation cases, two theatres, dental room, X-ray suite, and a comprehensive IDEXX lab with haematology, biochemistry, and urinalysis capability. Additional equipment includes digital X-ray, digital dental imaging, gastroscope, 4mm bronchoscopy/rhinoscope, ultrasound with colour Doppler, ECG, and MMP TTA. The Pembroke Dock branch has three consulting rooms, theatre, and inpatient ward.
The team is actively engaged in professional development—Fenton Vets is a nurse training practice with RCVS PSS scheme accreditation and holds ISFM cat-friendly status (Gold at Haverfordwest, Bronze at Pembroke Dock).
Fenton Vets is a proudly independent, Pembrokeshire-based small animal and farm practice with roots tracing back to 1950. The team comprises approximately 50 staff members across separate clinical teams for pets and farms. The practice is committed to remaining independent, underpinned by values of excellence, integrity, compassion, and honesty towards colleagues, community, and the environment.
As an active member of XLVets, Fenton Vets benefits from a community of independent practices sharing aligned values and culture. The practice is invested in staff development, modern facilities, and equipment—creating opportunities for career progression aligned with your own ambitions and values.
