Shared OOH
Ready to join a proudly independent practice with genuine work-life balance? Fenton Vets offers a truly mixed caseload, modern facilities, and a shared OOH rota that actually works—plus 5 weeks' holiday to recharge.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

Equally shared rota with nursing support and telephone handling service. Each weekend day counts as one full day of the week. After 10pm, local OOH service takes over.

About the Role

You’ll be joining Fenton Vets’ small animal team in Haverfordwest, a well-established independent practice serving Pembrokeshire since 1950. This is a 4.5-day week position with a genuinely shared out-of-hours rota—each weekend day counts as one of your full days that week, and after 10pm, the local OOH service takes over. You’ll work 8:30am–5:30pm (6:30pm on call days), backed by nursing support and a telephone handling service.

The practice offers a rewarding and varied caseload including significant neutering volume and work with a local charity. You’ll have access to excellent facilities across two sites: the main Haverfordwest location features four consulting rooms, a dedicated cat room, quiet room, separate wards for dogs/cats/isolation cases, two theatres, dental room, X-ray suite, and a comprehensive IDEXX lab with haematology, biochemistry, and urinalysis capability. Additional equipment includes digital X-ray, digital dental imaging, gastroscope, 4mm bronchoscopy/rhinoscope, ultrasound with colour Doppler, ECG, and MMP TTA. The Pembroke Dock branch has three consulting rooms, theatre, and inpatient ward.

The team is actively engaged in professional development—Fenton Vets is a nurse training practice with RCVS PSS scheme accreditation and holds ISFM cat-friendly status (Gold at Haverfordwest, Bronze at Pembroke Dock).
