About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position offering 40 hours across 4 days, with a 1:3 on-call commitment—meaningful work-life balance in a specialist surgical role. You’ll join frank. Pet Surgeons’ dedicated orthopaedic team in Leeds, where you’ll gain access to a unique opportunity to deepen your surgical expertise under the guidance of experienced specialists.

The practice is conveniently located on Orbital Industry Park, just off junction 4 of the M621 and 1.3 miles from Leeds train station. You’ll be working in a purpose-built facility equipped with 2 fully equipped operating theatres, CT, digital radiography, arthroscopy, ultrasound, multiparameter monitoring equipment, separate dog and cat wards, and in-house laboratory—everything you need to manage the most challenging cases confidently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform complex orthopaedic surgeries including fracture repair, total hip replacement, angular limb deformities, and advanced spinal and soft tissue procedures
  • Work as part of a specialist surgical team comprising 1 Resident, 3 Surgical Interns, 15 RVNs, 5 ACAs, and 8 support staff
  • Collaborate with colleagues to manage intriguing and challenging orthopaedic referral cases
  • Enhance surgical and anaesthesia skills through mentorship from expert surgeons
  • Contribute to the practice’s commitment to accessibility and innovation in specialist surgical care
  • Support the Surgical Complications Guarantee and fixed-price surgical packages the practice offers

Requirements

  • RCVS, American, or European Boarded Diplomate in orthopaedic surgery, or residency-trained equivalent
  • Cert AVP status with prior experience in a multi-disciplinary referral hospital (also considered)
  • Demonstrated passion for veterinary surgical care and complex case management
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a specialist surgical team
