About the Role

Hayes End practice has experienced strong growth and is now recruiting an additional Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their established team. This is a part-time position working Thursdays and Fridays (8-hour shifts), with a 1:3 Saturday rotation shared between Hayes and Uxbridge, plus 1:10 Sunday shifts alongside Mandeville Hospital—and critically, there are no on-call requirements. The role suits both experienced RVNs and newly qualified nurses looking for a supportive environment to develop their skills.

Located in West London, Hayes offers excellent green space, a thriving community, and exceptional transport links including the new Elizabeth Line at Hayes & Harlington station. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care and maintain continuous improvement in patient standards
  • Support veterinary surgeons in theatre, consultations, and clinical procedures
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate hospitalisation records for all patients
  • Ensure excellent welfare standards and comfort for all animals in the practice’s care
  • Manage sterilisation, cleaning, packing, and correct storage of theatre equipment
  • Maintain stock levels of drugs, diets, and consumables; coordinate orders with suppliers
  • Provide reception cover as required, managing client communications in person, by phone, and email
  • Support and supervise trainee nurses and veterinary care assistants
  • Contribute to induction and training of new team members
  • Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
  • Willingness to work part-time hours across Thursday, Friday, and weekend rotations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to high standards of animal welfare and patient care

Benefits

  • Salary: £32,000–£35,000 per annum full-time equivalent (pro-rated to part-time hours), depending on experience

Hayes End is part of Goddard Vet Group, a long-established practice that has been a cornerstone of the local community for decades. The practice has expanded significantly and now operates with modern facilities including 2 consultation rooms, a spacious bright theatre and prep area, digital radiography, and dental X-ray equipment. Staff benefit from a dedicated colleague break area.

The team comprises a part-time senior vet, associate vet, senior RVN, trainee nurses, and reception staff. For out-of-hours care and complex cases, the practice is supported by Goddard Mandeville Veterinary Hospital in Northolt. The practice is actively recruiting additional part-time veterinary cover to meet growing demand.
