Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients visiting or calling Grove Lodge Veterinary Group, playing a vital role in creating the welcoming experience the practice is known for. This part-time position involves booking appointments, answering enquiries via phone, email and face-to-face, managing client records, and processing payments—all while maintaining the practice’s reputation for excellent service. You’ll work across seven sites in the Brighton area (Brighton, Portslade, Southwick, Lancing, Broadwater, Tarring and Durrington), so you’ll need your own transport to move between locations.

Based in vibrant Brighton with a supportive, encouraging team behind you, this role offers variety every week as you cover different sites based on business needs. Your hours are 32.25 per week: Monday to Friday 1pm–7pm, plus every other Saturday 8:30am–1pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients and answer queries via phone, email, and in person
• Book and manage veterinary appointments
• Maintain accurate client and patient records
• Process payments and handle financial transactions
• Provide administrative support across seven practice locations
• Support the team to deliver the high-quality service Grove Lodge is known for

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills with empathy and patience, especially when handling emotional situations
• Experience in a customer-facing role (in person or over the phone) is advantageous
• Strong IT skills and ability to record data accurately
• Attention to detail and reliability
• Team player mentality
• Own transport essential (you’ll cover multiple sites)
• Knowledge of the veterinary industry is a bonus but not required

About the Practice

Grove Lodge Veterinary Group is a thriving multi-site practice in the Brighton area, part of IVC Evidensia. The practice has a wonderful culture centred on creating a safe, open environment for all team members. With 17 vets, 26 nurses (including senior veterinary nurses), VCAs, and administrative support staff, it’s a substantial team delivering high-quality care across small animal medicine.

The practice treats dogs, cats, small pets, and is exotic-friendly, serving clients across Brighton, Portslade, Southwick, Lancing, Broadwater, Tarring and Durrington from seven locations.
