Veterinary Receptionist – Part-Time

About the Role

This is a part-time receptionist position working 32.25 hours per week across Grove Lodge’s seven locations in the Brighton area (Brighton, Portslade, Southwick, Lancing, Broadwater, Tarring, and Durrington). Your hours will be Monday to Friday 1pm–7pm, plus every other Saturday 8:30am–1pm, with shifts scheduled to meet business needs.

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, greeting them in person, answering phones, and responding to emails. Your role involves booking appointments, handling enquiries with empathy, maintaining accurate client records, and processing payments—all while maintaining the high standard of service Grove Lodge is known for. A valid driving license and reliable car are essential, as you’ll be working across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome clients at reception and provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone
• Book appointments and manage client enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face contact
• Maintain detailed and accurate client records using practice management systems
• Process payments and handle financial transactions securely
• Work flexibly across any of the seven practice sites based on operational needs
• Support the wider team in maintaining Grove Lodge’s reputation for excellent care

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills with genuine empathy and ability to handle emotional situations
• Experience in a customer-facing role (in person and over the phone) is advantageous
• Solid IT skills and ability to record data accurately with attention to detail
• Team player with a collaborative approach
• Valid driving license and access to a reliable car (essential)
• Knowledge of the veterinary industry is helpful but not required
